Mello, born on November 15, 2014, is a sweet guy, but he’s very young and hasn’t seen much of the world. He lacks confidence, but this should get better as he gets more experience. He enjoys playing with other dogs and following the lead of confident, playful dogs will help him become more confident. He enjoys rawhide bones.
Mello did well in cat testing but has never lived with a cat. Closely monitor initial interactions and the use of a muzzle is recommended. Mello interacted well with the other Greyhounds and responded well when meeting Jack Russell Terriers. Caution should always be exercised, especially outdoors.
Update from Foster Family:
Mello, also known as Flip because of his incredibly awesome ears! He is a very sweet, quiet 1 year old boy (who turns 2 on November 15th!) is looking for a forever home.
Everyone says he can be quite shy but is doing his best to be a brave boy with the help of his awesome foster mom and foster sister. New situations are a bit frightening so he’ll need guidance and patience to help introduce him to this awesome new life he’s living – change can be quite scary sometimes!
Mello is a super sweet, tiny, quiet boy who is hoping to find his forever home. We feel Mello would do best in a calm home with another dog to show him the ropes. He’s made huge progress in the time he’s been with his foster mom but still needs lots of encouragement and patience in new situations.
Although he’s a shy boy, he’s also a lover and actually sleeps with his foster mom in her bed at night! He’s also started playing with stuffies and wagging his tail when she returns home from work and he absolutely LOVES his walks – these may seem like small things but are a big deal for this little man. We feel with time things will improve and he will come out of his shell as he gets a little older – he’s just a baby!
We love Mello and know his new family will too – he’s an incredibly sweet boy and despite his shyness you can see that there is a true cuddler hiding just beneath the surface waiting to come out.
