Meet Johnny!
Johnny is a shy (but sweet) 5 year old Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua cross who found himself in our care when his loving family ended up in a situation where they could no longer care for him.
Johnny is originally from California where he found himself in a shelter with a positive Parvo diagnosis. Being the tough little guy he is, he survived parvo and eventually found himself in Canada being adopted by a loving family. Unfortunately do to life changes they found themselves in a position where they had to find a new home for him and with his original adoption group having shut down, they started searching online. We had a foster home willing and available to take him so we reached out and offered to help.
Here’s some notes from Johnny’s foster mom;
In foster care it took about 3 weeks of giving him time and space to adjust and now he is thriving! He is good with other dogs of all sizes and has become besties with a husky that he plays with! Johnny is house broken, updated on shots, neutered and crate trained. He does get jumpy when it comes to food and treats but understands the word no! Once he is comfortable with you his silly side sure comes out such as randomly jumping on your lap for head scratches, jumping in bed and steam rolling your head to try to play.
Johnny has a very loveable personality but needs someone that will let him adjust slowly, we do not recommend him around small children due to some of his fear issues. He also loves to lounge outside and is quiet in the house. He has started to play with toys and has had zero accidents while in foster care.
