Rani is another of our Lower Mainland dogs. She was surrendered to us with her brother, Raji, when their owner became ill and was unable to care for them.

Rani is a sweet, curious girl who is learning how to go from a kennel in the backyard to a dog bed in the living room. She has the usual separation anxiety that comes from a major life change and wants to be near someone all the time. She gets concerned when someone leaves the house but calms quickly. Learning to be alone with her foster hound friend will be the next step. Part of gaining trust and confidence.

She knows “down” and is learning “wait” and “out”. A gentle no is all that is needed to correct her. She has no accidents in the house, asking to go out when she needs.

She is enjoying playing with her home foster hound, learning about squeaky toys and what is and is not food. She has been fine in her encounters with other dogs when walking and was curious about the neighbourhood deer but no barking or pulling.

Rani is a lovely, playful girl who loves being loved, especially now that we know about belly rubs.
