Duke, born on June 24, 2018, is a 1 year old Greyhound x Wolfhound cross regretfully surrendered to NCGL by his owner.
He’s HUGE (probably 90lbs+) and LOVES to play with other dogs.
He’s a super energetic boy who will need an active family to help burn off some energy.
He is also cat safe.

Duke is an absolutely fabulous puppy who celebrated his 1st birthday on June 24th. He’s drop-dead gorgeous with his beautiful brindle mask, incredible ears and being a Wolfhound x Greyhound cross, he is absolutely HUGE, we’re not kidding – this is one tall boy!
Duke’s favourite things in life are playing, cuddling, playing, eating, playing, walks and even more cuddling on the couch with his foster mom. Duke has no clue how big he is and will try to sit on your lap – he needs a family that will allow him on the furniture as his world would end if he wasn’t allowed to lay on top of you while you watch TV.
This sweet man is super social and loves all dogs big and small and is great with cats. Duke would do best in a family with a young or active dog who would love to play with him, but please note, due to his size, teeny-tiny dogs may accidentally be hurt when he’s bounding around the house. While Duke has never met a person he didn’t fall in love with, we feel that he needs a home with ‘bigger’ kids as he’s extremely active and may accidentally knock over smaller children when he’s playing his games.
While Duke is an absolutely incredible and happy dog he is still a puppy – a very, very, big puppy! He knows how to sit, shake, down, but still needs some help learning manners with people and boundaries with other dogs. Duke will need a home with a yard and a solid 6-foot fence as he has been known to jump fences shorter than this.
He will need an active family who will play fetch with him and take him for long walks, this is not your typical lazy Greyhound that will spend his afternoons sleeping on the couch – he needs exercise, playtime and lots of stimulation! While Duke is not crate trained, he’s not destructive either – as long as he sees you leave he has done fine at home for a full workday and has only had one accident in the house in the time he’s been with us, however, he has been known to steal things off the counter and with his size all food items need to be put away.
This monster puppy is an absolute blast and will be a perfect addition for the right family!
