Diamond, born on August 19, 2017, is a very handsome dark brown brindle, who has been surrendered to NCGL for re-homing by his owners who are unable to care for him anymore. Although he’s a little overweight he is very healthy looking, not even any balding on his back end.

He was eager to get in the car but stood up for the whole trip, keeping a close eye on the driver and making sure we were heading the right way! Hopefully he will relax during his next car ride.

The owner told us that Diamond is very friendly with most other dogs, showed an interested in small dogs, but not cats. He likes people and warms up immediately when being petted.

There is much more to learn about this big boy and we will update his bio after we get to know him. Diamond will be available for adoption following his neuter surgery, micro-chip, vaccines and dental.

Foster Update 2019-10-01

He’s a very sweet (and big) guy who loves ear scratches. We left him alone with Lola for 2 hours today, and he howled most of the time (per the webcam), but settled well once someone was home.

Has some fear anxiety, and has had a couple freak outs and stalls. Leaving the bedroom and stairs can be a challenge for him, but we think he’ll relax a bit soon.

He’s learning to walk nicely on a short lead. He also enjoys chewing stuffed toys and the occasional piece of furniture ?

He’s also more or less slept through the night, not requiring any bathroom trips (just a few checks to make sure the humans are still nearby).
