Shade (Arderin Shade) is an absolutely beautiful 5 year old greyhound with the sweetest personality. Although Shade is the sweetest boy and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body, this handsome boy as he is EXTREMELY shy. He will bark at new people he finds scary, will try to bolt at loud noises and needs to be tethered to you in the yard when he goes potty until he learns to trust you so he doesn’t try to flee and so you can bring him back in the house afterwards.

While Shade does have some trust issues initially, he is an absolute quirky sweetheart once he learns to trust you. He’s doing wonderful with the resident pups in the house including the chihuahua! He never wants to leave your side and as he gets settled his awesome personality is really starting to shine. His previous family had children and other dogs and while he barks when he’s scared, there’s absolutely no signs of fear aggression.

We’re looking for a special home with experience with shy dogs to help this guy come out of his shell. His foster mom absolutely adores him and says he’s an absolute sweetheart! He does well in a crate and we feel he would do best in a home with another confident dog to help show him that there’s nothing to be scared of. Shade absolutely needs a home with a 6ft+ secured fence and although we have tested him with a chihuahua we haven’t tested him with cats.

Shade is being fostered in Calgary and is looking for a loving family willing to help him find his confidence! We are also in need of a new foster for Shade ASAP as his current foster home is moving.
