Hawkeye is a small but handsome, fawn brindle, born on November 13, 2014. He is a happy, friendly guy and enjoys getting out and doing things. He crates extremely well and enjoys rawhide bones.
Hawkeye showed a lot of interest in cats and he should not be trusted with them. He interacted well with the other Greyhounds but showed some inappropriate interest in smaller dogs. This may improve as he sees more different breeds of dogs. Caution should be exercised when in the vicinity of small animals.
At the time of his neuter surgery, Hawkeye had one testicle retained in his abdomen. It was successfully removed, but he has two incisions from these two surgeries. Both will heal nicely.
Update from Foster – 2017-07-12
Hawkeye is certainly getting good grades from his foster Dad, who says he (Hawkeye) is inquisitive, engaged and active. He is so playful and enjoys his time playing. He is excellent with all people, young and old, and is very affectionate, leaning in for pats from complete strangers.
He is so good-natured, and would do very well in a family structure as he is good with children. Hawkeye would benefit from a stimulating family environment.
Foster Dad will be working on his leash manners – he likes to sniff everything and wanders back and forth so he doesn’t miss anything. He listens well and understands most basic commands.
